Designed specifically to optimise the characteristics of optical surface manufacture, this two-axis, air-bearing, linear drive machine provides very high dynamic stability, to ensure consistently smooth operation and extremely high repeatability. Capable of producing a wide range of spheric and aspheric optical geometries for the manufacture of contact lens, intra-ocular lens, mould inserts and other optical component manufacture.
The touch-screen provides an exceptional user-friendly interface, with windows based screen information and graphics of tools to assist with functionality and simplifying tool calibrations. Serviceable components are easily accessed from the sliding front drawer, which also provides the added benefit of reduced floor space on installation.

Building on the well established and proven platform of the 100, the addition of our unique 3-tool, fast-servo system sets new standards in the manufacture of non-rotationally symmetric geometries, that include toric, multi-focal, dynamic, prismatic and many other free-form possibilities. In addition, the 100A provides the unique ability to manufacture edge radii on toric periphery lens types. All these surfaces are easily manufactured in an ever-increasing range of lens materials and non-ferrous metals.
Switchable air and spray-mist cooling is a standard function of the machine and significantly contributes to optimising the surface finish of materials cut and helping to extend diamond tool life. Intuitive tool calibration software guides the user efficiently, but with high precision, through the set-up of any of the 6 tool positions available. The 100A is indeed, a truly versatile contouring lathe platform.
CALCULENS Lens Design Software
Specifically designed to simplify a complex job like lens design and manufacture, this windows-style package which is surprisingly powerful. New lenses can be created easily from the lens components library, can be expanded as new design features are realised. Pull-down menus and graphic tools, guide you intuitively from lens design, through CNC code transfer when connected via network, to the 100 series of precision lathes. Material and tool tables are fully integrated in the software and help the user to optimise the machining characteristics, for the best possible results in the final machined product.
Embedded maintenance functions help facilitate troubleshooting and on-line support is available via a Net Viewer application, providing secure and reliable software support remotely.
Ultra Block
Dual-station, static blocker for blocking contact or intra-ocular lens blanks, for first side machining and to transfer block for second side machining, providing extremely precise levels of control in concentricity, tilt and lens thickness. Highly reproducible, the lens blocks ensure precision is maintained throughout the whole lens manufacturing process. Simple timer and sequence adjustments, using the on-board controller, LCD display and push-button operation for ease of use.
