A perfect design combined with excellent fitting and prescribing skills are optimised with the utilisation of modern, state-of-the-art materials produced by Contamac. Silicone Hydrogel, Hydrophilic Soft and Gas Permeable materials from Contamac, represent the latest in polymer technology and provide manufacturers and practitioners worldwide with a full menu of bio-compatible plastics that fulfill all the requirements for safe, comfortable contact lens wear. Durable, breathable, wettable and easy to fabricate, Contamac is creating the materials that are becoming the "Standard of Care" in the world of contact lenses.

Silicone Hydrogels comprise the newest group of contact lens materials on the market today, offering much higher oxygen permeability than other products and promoting better eye health. The advantages of Silicone Hydrogel lenses over conventional soft lenses include lower risk of corneal edema and the resultant neo-vascularization, as well as reduced incidence of all eye health complications related to insufficient oxygen permeability.

Gas Permeable contact lenses are generally employed to provide the best in excellent visual acuity and due to their rigidity, are often the only method of providing more than acceptable visual acuity on highly irregular corneas. Crisp optics, combined with the ocular health benefits of high oxygen permeability, make Gas Permeable lenses the first choice on patients with complex corneal topography. These huge advantages along with excellent durability, wettability and ease of handling, ensure that Gas Permeable lenses made from Contamac's premium materials will always play a key role in full-service contact lens care.

Hydrophilic or hydrogel materials produced by Contamac offer a range of water contents between 38% and 75%. GM Advance is provided in 49% and 58% water contents, both featuring lower modulus figures and therefore offers greater flexibility when machined to a finished soft contact lens. GM Advance resists dehydration longer and rehydrates faster than many other products that are currently available. Other well known Contamac products include FDA approved 55% Methafilcon. Flexibility, stability and manufacturability; all hallmarks of Contamac's hydrogel materials.

Contact lenses can be generated in an assortment of designs ranging from spherical to specialty lenses such as keratoconus, scleral and semi-scleral multifocals, pellucid marginal degeneration and other unique indications.
